Paris, France | Alicia Yarrish Photography | European Destination Wedding & Anniversary Photographer | 2018 Goals and Photography Bucket List

Last week I reviewed the highlights of the year as well as shared some of my favorite portraits from 2017! This week I’m talking all about 2018 and what’s in store! I’m a huge believer in setting goals and then mapping out tiny steps to reach that goal. I also believe that having accountability and putting those goals out into the world makes a difference.

When you put your goals out there whether it’s an in-person discussion or in a blog post it lets people know what you’re working towards. And maybe it’s the military spouse in me, but I know that it takes a village! Not to mention, when you say your goal out loud and tell the world it creates a sense of urgency to actually do the thing you said you’d do!

My Professional 2018 Goals

• I will be published/featured on five blogs

• I will photograph an anniversary session in London, England in addition to Paris (obviously… 😉 )

• I will photograph fifteen weddings for amazing couples that want their wedding day photography to help lay down the foundation for their marriage through creating heirlooms

• I will sell out of my current fine art prints in La Keepsake Shoppe and retire them in order to introduce new European prints (I’ve decided to only sell 500 of each print, then retire them!)

• I will travel to an industry renowned conference

• I will mentor under an excellent photographer who can help me elevate my business

My Personal 2018 Goals

• I will travel to 3 new countries with my little family (Any suggestions!?)

• I will be consistently good to my body! I will use less chemical/bad products and more natural/good products. (Clearly, I’m extremely educated about this subject… learning more!)

My Photography Bucket List!

These are the places I would love to shoot an engagement session, wedding, or anniversary session at! So if you’re heading to one of these locations in 2018 as well and to be photographed there- email me and let’s chat!

• Providence, France

• London, England

• Salzburg, Austria

What are YOUR  2018 goals?!

Let me give you some accountability! What are you hoping to get accomplished in 2018? A job promotion? Being a little healthier? Whatever it is- I’d love to hear about it and support you!

Oh, and notice one thing about my goals- they are all “I will” statements. Not “I’d like to” or just a bulleted list of things. I’m establishing that I will do the following things! I suggest you use this mind trick for your goals too!

Oh this is so good! My husband and I are sitting down this weekend and writing down our 2018 goals. Thanks for a great reminder and making me rethink my goals and setting us up for bigger and better things!

    • It’s my absolute favorite date night- goal setting! We put those huge board meeting type sticky sheets on all the walls and map out what we did well this past year and what we want to improve on. From there the goals come together naturally! I can’t wait to hear about the goals your two are making together! I think it’s so important and awesome that y’all are setting aside time for that (because, hello, life happens).

Looks like you’re able to have an amazing year. No doubt you will meet your goals!

Countries to travel to….South Africa. I can’t get over my trip there. And it’s cheaper to go there from Europe than from the U.S. My plane ticket from Houston was $1800 😑 but a Frenchman I met while there said he only paid $400euro. Also, Canada. Just a lovely country. Toronto is great (Google Casa Loma and prepare to drool).

  4. Erica says:

Awesome goals! You might like Positano, Italy. I haven’t been but it’s been on my list for years

    • I would LOVE to go to Positano! It will certainly be on a future list… but I wouldn’t be mad if I got there in 2018 either 😉 Thanks so much for taking the time to peruse the blog!

You are seriously the cutest and sweetest person! I loved reading through your goals and I just know you’re going to crush them this year! Keep it up girl!
