Wedding planning can easily be overwhelming. Not only are there so many tasks, but there are also so many resources that can help you do it. Deciding which apps, books, planners, and websites you’re going to use as wedding planning aids in itself is no easy task. Below you’ll find the easy button on which wedding planning resources you should be using in 2021 to plan your dream wedding!

Local Houston Wedding Inspiration: Brides of Houston

I love national wedding inspiration and planning blogs! In fact, my couples and my work have been featured in many of them. However, there’s something extra special, and useful, about finding inspiration from a local guide. In Houston, the best local wedding planning resource is hands-down Brides of Houston. You can find blog posts on weddings, styled shoots, and wedding planning advice.

My favorite part about Brides of Houston is they make it easy to find the vendors that can make that inspiration come to life for you! It’s an easy way to not only get local inspiration at venues you’ll be touring, but also know what local wedding professionals can bring that vision to life for you.

National Wedding Inspiration: Carats & Cake

I love Carats & Cake for so many reasons, however, my favorite might be how easy it is to get in touch with vendors. While you can search national weddings for inspiration you can also check out local. So it’s a win-win! Their slogan is “Dream Weddings Made Simple” and I’m in love with that concept!

Browse wedding styles you love and C&C tells you what vendors were involved so you can make that happen for your own wedding day. Carats & Cake also have style guides and other wedding planning articles to keep you informed on trends and how to’s!

Best Wedding App to Keep you Organized: Zola

I’ve talked about Zola before when helping you choose what registry is right for you and your fiancé. However, Zola is so much more than a website and app to combine your favorite store registries into one place. You can create a wedding website through Zola as well as other great wedding planning tools! Zola is another resource that shows you inspiration as well as general wedding planning advice.

Just remember, when browsing through the wedding inspiration and planning resources on Zola that it’s nationwide focused. That means when planning a Houston wedding some estimates, timing advice, etc might not be relevant. Always refer to and trust your Houston wedding team when planning a local wedding.

Best Wedding Planning Info Organizer: Google Drive

I use Google Drive and Google Docs every day in my business, but it’s also a great resource for brides! Especially in the very beginning phases of wedding planning. When you first dive into planning once you’ve completed these 6 steps after getting engaged it can be difficult to organize the “starter information”.

I call “starter information” spreadsheets on what venue has which features so you know in one glance where you’d like to tour. And potentially host your wedding at! Or the core inspiration photos you want to easily share with your girls. The list is endless!

The best part of Google Drive? You can easily share it with your parents and bridesmaids and they can edit it as well! No more texting important wedding information that’ll get lost in the thread. Simply put it in a Google Doc where it won’t get lost.

Best Overall Wedding Planning Resource: Your Wedding Planner

There is absolutely no combination of apps, websites, planners, etc that will replace the expertise and skill of a Houston wedding planner. Depending on what phase of wedding planning you bring on a planner they will be able to help you in different ways. My favorite part about local wedding planners? They are the ultimate easy button!

After listening to your wedding day vision they can make expert suggestions on venues, Houston wedding photographers, and more that will make your life so much easier!

If you hire a planner for month of planning or day-of coordination be sure to ask their recommendations for apps or websites to use up until their service starts.

For Houston wedding planner recommendations be sure to email me! I always recommend planners based on you. You and your fiancé are unique and have a certain style for your wedding day. Getting to know your vision will best help me recommend the right wedding planner for you.
