Bridal details have such an important role in your big day, and I love photographing them! You’ve worked hard planning your wedding day and a lot of that comes down to the details, literally. So throughout your day, I’ll be photographing details- your bridal details, ceremony details, reception details… If there’s a detail I’m sure to photograph it!
While your most cherished photographs will be your first look photos, bride and groom portraits, and family photographs detail photographs have a special place. I believe that your detail photos capture a different kind of memory from your wedding day- how you felt. You pick your details based on the design you want, your signature scent to always associate with the day you said “I do”, and your dress and veil to reflect you and your personality.
It’s my goal for you to look back on your detail photographs, even years later, and feel a rush with how you felt on your wedding day! Seeing the bouquet that you held up close, your mom buttoning your dress, the jewelry you wore especially for your wedding. The butterflies you felt getting ready? The fun you had with your bridesmaids? The sweet smell of that signature perfume? I want all of those things to come over you and for you to feel like you felt on that day all over again.
The very first thing I do when I arrive at your wedding is to give you a massive hug and tell you just how excited I am for you! After that, I get straight to work! Having your bridal details all in one place when I arrive is so very efficient and ensures you don’t have to send any of your bridal party on the hunt for missing items! After all, you want all the special ladies in your life there for the entirety of your getting ready!

This is such great advice for brides! It would be easy to forget to have some of these details present, but you gotta capture it all!
Yes yes yes! There’s simply so much to remember on the wedding day sometimes details aren’t in the forefront of your mind!
Yes that is true! So many photographers missing those important details. Great article!
Thanks, Jan!

Thank you, Sarah! You’re so sweet <3
Yess, I always do those first, too. Detail shots sometimes get a bad rap, but they’re such an important part of the wedding day!
This is such a great post for brides about their Bridal Details! I always emphasize this to my brides too. Thanks for sharing your tips to brides.
You are speaking my language! I love when my photographers collect all the details of the wedding day! It tells the story so much more completely!
It truly does! And brides are getting so intentional about their details that it only makes sense to photograph them well!
Yes yes YES! Bridal details are key to telling the story of the day! I love your approach to photographing details.
I love bridal details! They’re so important when you want an album and a cohesive way to tell the story of the day. Lovely work
So much yes to this!!!! Especially the invitation suite. I feel like that detail is missed so often, or even forgotten by the couple and it’s one of my most favorite things to photograph.
