Downtown Houston Heirloom Engagement Album Showcase | Eric & Itzel | Alicia Yarrish Photography

Why an Heirloom Engagement Album

It makes my heart so happy when my couples choose an heirloom engagement album. It’s such a special way to commemorate your engagement. After you say yes, the wedding planning flies by! Some engagements are 6 months and others are a year or more. No matter the length it feels so short when you look back. And I’m a very big fan of getting your photos out of your device and on to real paper! That way you can enjoy them way more often and not on a tiny screen.

Heirloom engagement albums are one way to get those photos onto paper. Professional quality albums look and feel luxurious. And will stand the test of time. Your engagement album is meant to be viewed as often as you’d like! So I recommend keeping them in a place where you and your family can do just that. Coffee tables or a handy display cabinet in your most used room are great options. And they’re meant to last so you pass them down telling your love story to you kids and grandkids.

My professional album company prints and binds your album to perfection based on your preferences. There are so many choices. From size, types of leathers and linens, album imprinting and fonts, page gilding, slipcovers- all the things! And because you have so many options to personalize your engagement or wedding album they make all albums by hand. There is no assembly line or machine creating your heirloom- you’ll have an artisan-made album.

Truly, no engagement or wedding album is the same.

Wedding & Engagement Album Creation Process

There are a lot of decisions to be made throughout your engagement and wedding album process. Never fear, my system makes it seamless and easy! Read about the steps below and keep scrolling to view Eric and Itzel’s heirloom engagement album!

Step 1. Your Album Order Form

This form gives me all the details I need to not only order your album but share your preferences with your album designer. You’ll find this step will take you the longest, but once you have this complete I’ll do all the heavy lifting. After your order form is submitted you can sit back and approve the magic happening!

Step 2. Choose Your Photos

In your online gallery, you’ll have an “extra” album named very cleverly, “Album”. This is where you will mark your favorite photos that you must have in your album. If you’re choosing photos for your wedding album, more often than not my couples choose to go with photos from the “Alicia’s Favorites” album. So if you want to let me choose what goes into your album I can certainly do that. After so many wedding seasons I’ve become a pro on guessing what photos you’ll love in your heirloom album.

I encourage my couples to make a date of this process! Grab a glass of wine and go through your album as a couple marking favorites along the way. Bonus points if you do this together when seeing your online gallery for the first time!

Step 3. Send Off Your Photos for Album Design

This is one of my favorite steps! You and I will discuss the different design options and which styles you love best.  Then your photos go to my album designers. I work with an expert design team that will take your preferences into consideration to create your perfect album design.

When we give the designer detailed insight about your preferences it’s likely your album design will come back perfect! However, if there are any changes you’d like to make with the album design you do have two complementary revisions to do so.

When your design is ready for review you’ll view your album virtually flipping through your beautiful pages. It’s as close to the real thing as you can get and really amazing for envisioning the end result!

Step 4. Send Design to Album Company

After you approve your album design I’ll send it over to my album company and get your album ordered officially! Their completion time varies throughout the year due to different volumes. However, when they begin to work on your album they will send over an estimated ship date so we can all do a happy dance and count down the days!

Step 5. To Have and to Hold… Your Album!

The best step of all! I’ll deliver your album to your door if your in the Houston area. This is by far my favorite step because it brings me so much joy to see my couples enjoying their photos on the regular! Albums are an amazing way to showcase lots of photos to your family and friends and someday- future generations.

I love a good gallery wall, but believe every couple should have two heirloom pieces. First, a silver frame with your favorite timeless wedding photo. Secondly, heirloom engagement and wedding albums to showcase your engagement and wedding as stories.

Any and all gallery walls are a bonus in my book though!

Eric & Itzel’s Heirloom Engagement Album

Eric and Itzel chose the Talc Leather option with Classic Layout Designed album spreads. I love the photo they chose for their album cover. This is the exact spot that Eric proposed and Itzel said, “Yes!” Having it on their engagement album is extra special. On the spine, they imprinted their names and it looks so modern and perfect!

Enjoy the slideshow and photos below of their album and get inspired for your own! Please note that photos of photos do not represent the photos well, however, I want you to see the album itself and the different spread options.
