You might remember my “Bits and Bobs” journal post a while back. Well, this is a little late, but it’s part 2! Exploring a new city with my film camera is one of my favorite things to do. Something about seeing the world through that specific lens is more magical for me. So, of course, I want to share that with you!
I loved having the opportunity to second shoot a wedding in a small England town and of course took advantage of the opportunity to see a new place! Photographing and England wedding was such a joy- learning about the local wedding traditions and the language quarks was seriously fun. Being an England photographer for the weekend was such an amazing experience.
I was able to explore Shrewsbury, Ludlow, and a whole lot of the England countryside. The train station, little alleyways, and the doors were some of my favorite parts! Something about doors- I absolutely love them in every city I’m in. I’ve found that the doors to homes really tell a lot about the city and reflect the architecture perfectly. So my door and door knob obsession continues 😉
The cities I met in England are so very different than my favorite European city, Paris. The color palette in Paris is rich with creams and blush pinks where as England was exploding with deeper tones- blacks and beiges. It’s also the strangest feeling being able to understand people speaking, but there being an obvious accent. I’m so acclimated to not understanding anyone when I travel that this was such a nice change of pace.
A huge thank you to The FIND Lab! These guys did such an amazing job, as they do every time, and I love my film scans from England!
