Peter and Van knew they wanted to celebrate their very first anniversary with portraits locally, in Houston. I’m bias- but I believe it’s the best way to celebrate the paper themed anniversary! Creating a wall gallery from your anniversary session is so fun. You can even create a gallery that’s intermingled with your engagement, bridal, and wedding portraits. You’ll find they all naturally flow together and look great in a gallery!
Not only did these two bring their super adorable selves. They also brought their two pups! I adore when my couples include their furbabies. After all, they are a part of the family too. (Even if some pups are ‘by marriage’ 😉)
It was so great meeting these two and photographing them. I’m convinced they don’t take a bad photo! Also, Peter and Van’s Houston anniversary session is my first not in Europe! As much as I adore destination anniversary sessions you don’t have to go anywhere to celebrate your marriage. You can celebrate your love right here in Houston!
And Rice Village is a beautiful place for an anniversary session. The trees are very well known to locals. Chase Bank even uses this same pathway for its login screen! The other photo they use is from McGovern Centennial Gardens. Another Houston location I love to photograph weddings and sessions at.
Van came so prepared with their two pups (of course), an adorable chalkboard, and anniversary cake! The topper says, “We still do” which I equally love and get some chuckles from!
The first year of marriage can be difficult! But it’s also one of the most memorable time periods in your marriage. And deserves to be documented through each phase and change in your lives together.
