Houston Engagement Session, Chocolate Bunnies, and Sunny Days | Monday Rendezvous | Alicia Yarrish Photography

Why is it that long weekends go the fastest? We were forecasted 80% rain (and a chance of snow even!) here in Germany and ended up with sun the majority of the Easter weekend with minor sprinkles. How great is that?!

This last week has been a whirlwind- coming home from Houston, attempting to get over jetlag, finishing client galleries- including a gorgeous Houston engagement session, celebrating Easter with my family- it’s been a busy week!

Oh, and the weather? I’m holding up all my praise emoji hands and doing all the rain dances for good weather this weekend! I’ve tried keeping this under wraps- but I’m photographing bridal portraits that I just know are going to be beautiful! This couple is so deserving and it’s something they didn’t get from their wedding day. Now, though, we are getting them bridal portraits to cherish. So send all your good weather vibes over to Germany this weekend!

In case you missed it, here are the highlights:

– Eric and Christina are such a beautiful couple and I absolutely adore their engagement portraits! You don’t want to miss seeing their Downtown Houston Engagement Session!

– Our family has been through a lot this past year with various people getting various diagnosis… If you’ve been following along you know about my mother in laws cancer diagnosis. Well, I can now report that my mother in law, after chemotherapy and surgery, is 95% cancer free! That’s huge! …Or actually really small, but a huge accomplishment!

Bits and Pieces from the Yarrish Easter Weekend

– Every Spring we remember how much we’ve missed hiking and are ready to say bye to the snow so we can get back out on the trails! It’s still a bit cold, but we had our first family hike of the year and it was perfection!

– I might have exercised a little too hard on Saturday because on Sunday I was hobbling around. Needless to say we didn’t do the massive Easter feast, but are looking forward to deviled eggs at some point this week! (Hubby is pretty insistent on these, and I never complain about them either.)

– Greyson loved his Easter basket! He got books, a wooden puzzle toy, and his favorite, bubbles. Oh- he also tried out his very first (tiny) chocolate bunny! He’s a fan.

– I won’t lie, Easter in Germany freaks me out a tad. At midnight each year I’ve heard loud chanting out our windows. It’s a scary thing to wake up to, but a German tradition.

How was your Easter weekend? Or Ostern, in German!

(And because I’m that Mom… here are Grey’s Easter Photos! He really liked that bunny!)
