Zak and Maddie said “I do” this past Friday and I could not be more excited for them! They wedding planned for over a year for their full wedding day at The Farmhouse in Montgomery, Texas for this past March. However, we all know how Spring went in Houston. Unfortunately, Zak and Maddie were among the very first wave to have to reschedule.
Both Maddie and I were optimistic when the pandemic began to hit our state hard, but our “It’s still happening!” attitude quickly turned to a reschedule when local and state laws were made preventing gatherings. Still, these two picked themselves up and quickly planning for a July reschedule. After all- the pandemic would be well controlled, curve flattened by then, right? It’s now July 27th and I’m just now starting to feel like things are extremely slowly normalizing.
So their Farmhouse wedding was rescheduled yet again for next year, but these two didn’t want to wait to be married! And I don’t blame them one bit. So they got to planning their intimate wedding at Maddie’s Moms home in the Houston area. And luckily Zak’s family from out of town was able to fly in for them as well!
Zak and Maddie are such great people. I have had the pleasure of chatting with them and getting to know them, even more, this year and I don’t think they’ve ever been negative about their reschedules and change of plans.
I gush even more about this adorable couple on their Austin Engagement Session blog post!
Because these two are still planning a full wedding day with their full guest list they chose to keep it simple during their backyard wedding ceremony. We photographed the couple getting ready separately, they exchanged vows, shared a first dance, toasted, and enjoyed dinner with their closest family. Such beautiful moments!
Not only did these two endure the stress of rescheduling due to the pandemic, they were also graced with our first tropical storm of the area- Hannah. Because of the thunderstorms forecasted these two moved their backyard ceremony inside. The ceremony was comfortable with family gathering around and they shared vows by a beautiful fireplace.
The best part about their ceremony? Not even that they had everyone tearing up throughout. It was definitely the game of rock, paper, scissors to decide who shared their vows first!
