Not all the weddings I photograph are big ‘traditional’ wedding days. Some are local or destination elopements. Some weddings are small, intimate gatherings to fit the style and needs of the couple and their families. Ian and Beth planned an exclusive, intimate wedding at The Post Oak Hotel.
If you’ve never stayed there, first off- you must! The Post Oak Hotel is absolutely stunning and a perfect place for a wedding, or getting ready location. Timelines during intimate weddings are relaxed compared to their traditional wedding day counterpart. Starting with family photos we then photographed a few bride and groom portraits, then it was ceremony time.
Ian and Beth hosted their Jewish ceremony at the exclusive Oak Room at the Post Oak Hotel. Due to the nature of the club, I only photographed the outside balcony facing out. I was also allowed to snag a few quick signing photos inside. The Oak Room is an exclusive club that does not allow photos inside. That definitely made Houston wedding photography tricky. But certainly not impossible!
These two planned the perfect kind of intimate wedding- a sentimental one. Both Ian and Beth invited their friends and family to speak part of their ceremony and say key verses and quotes. In fact, each of their friends and family in attendance had a speaking part in their ceremony. So special!
My favorite part of small wedding gatherings is the ability to involve each of your guests. It creates such a bond between you and all the special people in your life!
Ian, Beth, and I connected through Pixel Studio Productions for whom I associate shot their wedding. I’m thrilled we met- it was an absolute joy photographing their intimate ceremony in The Oak Room.
P.S. Beth absolutely glowed on her wedding day! Here are some pre-wedding skincare tips so you can too!
