An AYP Life Update

I’ve tried to write this at least five times and it always ends the same- closing my laptop in frustration and feeling overwhelmed and sad. Unfortunately, this isn’t another fun Monday Rendezvous on the Journal. It’s a life update that feels much heavier.

Many of you lovelies have noticed I’ve been away from social media for about a month. I am so appreciative of all of your messages and texts and DMs checking in on me. While I wasn’t really expecting it, it has been so sweet of you, and it’s what is prompting me to write this update.

I wish I could tell you my time off from social media, and somewhat from life as well, was just a random hiatus I took without notice. As irresponsible as that would be, I still wish it was true. Instead, I’ve been away processing and grieving losing a pregnancy that Teylor and I were so so excited and ready for.

I’m pretty transparent about all the things we celebrate at the Yarrish house because we’re huge into celebrating the little accomplishments and life milestones. However, I wanted to be as transparent as I could with this as well even though it feels like the exact opposite of a celebration.

At this time I have not gained the clarity to discuss the miscarriage with any eye-opening or wise thoughts. I’m getting through the days and through the grieving process as best I know how. I’m very much still in it and not on the other side yet so to speak. So I sincerely appreciate all the check-ins, but please don’t feel obligated to say anything at all.

To be blunt, this update isn’t me reaching out to have discussions about it because I’m just not there just yet. I just felt the need to give an update since I have been absent from social media although of course, all my couples have heard from me behind the scenes.

I’ve done a lot of hard things and been in my fair share of tough situations, but this is by far the hardest thing I’ve gone through. Today is my first full day back at work since the miscarriage and procedures and checkups on checkups. I’m ready to be back, but I’m not 100% yet and will be slowly getting back into social media.

Of course, that doesn’t ring true for my clients. Please know if you’re booked or are looking to book everything has remained and will continue to be 100% normal. I’m still so so excited for all my couples and honored to be capturing their day!
