Houston and Destination Wedding Photographer | Review of Masons Trier

Date night at Masons Trier

This past weekend Teylor took me on a much needed date night! We combined my birthday, his birthday, and our anniversary dinners into one delicious meal at Masons in Trier. I don’t usually write reviews on restaurants (unless I absolutely LOVE it!). I’m certainly no professional critic, but it was so delicious I had to make todays Monday Rendezvous all about Masons!

The concept of Masons is to taste small dishes from all over the world. There were dishes from France, Egypt, Australia, Morocco… I could go on forever. Masons Trier represents so many countries through delicious dishes! The menu was not available in English, only German, but we know enough food related words that we got by just fine. Luckily, the menu showed each dish pictured. We probably would have gotten more knowledge of each dish if we had an English menu or had translated it, but I was much more interested in eating. 😉

Masons: Taste the World

Some of our favorite dishes Teylor and I tried were cachapas from Venezula, Korean burgers, taamia from Egypt, and bliny from Russia. I never would have thought I’d love any of those dishes but they were all so flavorful it was unreal.

Of course we’d love to eat these dishes in the country itself and experience the culture right along with it, but Masons gave us a great taste of so many different countries under one roof! It has also added countries to our travel goals just based on loving the food!

On top of loving the food, Masons provides such a fun experience, especially for a date night. You order one dish at a time per person, enjoy it, then order another. You can order as many dishes as you’d like- it’s all you can eat! Teylor and I had the tactic of ordering different dishes and sampling both. A few times we’d find one we loved so much we got another order of the same dish.

The waiters were all extremely fast at snagging our orders and even though each dish is small and really just a sample of the country we were plenty full after two and a half hours of constant eating.

While you’re in Germany, or any other foreign country, be sure and contact me about your destination session! I’ll respond within a day, but while you’re waiting to hear from me read all about why you’ll want a destination anniversary session every year!
