Bernkastel, Germany Christmas Market | Thanksgiving Weekend | Alicia Yarrish Photography

Long weekends are hard to come back from, but add Thanksgiving food on top of the long weekend?! Nearly impossible if you ask me! I’m over here enjoying Turkey Day leftovers wondering how in the world it’s already Monday!

Amidst all food, I had to stop and recognize all that I have to be thankful for. That’s what Thanksgiving is all about, right? I have had so many blessings, and even some blessings in disguise, this year.

I have a beautiful family, amazing clients that make me love my job even more than I ever thought possible, our ‘Ba’ (what Grey calls Juno) that is so gentle and amazing with Grey, good health… I could keep the list going! Teylor and I have so much to be thankful for.

I’ll spare you my mile-long list and get straight to the Thanksgiving weekend recap!

• Winter time has officially struck our house as we pretty much always seem to have the sniffles (thanks, Greyson!)
• Even if it’s just the three of us we need the whole Thanksgiving spread! Which means a lot of leftovers (but no green bean casserole leftovers because a certain hubby of mine can eat 3/4 of one by himself!)

• Another winter weekend another Christmas market! We had planned on going to Strasbourg, France for their market, but with a sick babe we couldn’t justify going 3 hours away. So! Bernkastel it was!

• The advent house in Bernkastel never disappoints! Seriously, go see the square, it’s beautiful!

• Again I got a million questions about my wine tumbler. I have got to start selling them! Anyone want one for $20?! 😉

• This dreary weekend has reminded me just how rough winter in Germany can be! Cue the Vitamin D supplements! And 100% considering a sunlamp!

• Dudeldorf changed their market dates this year! So I was the silly person that drug my friend, Brittany, out to the market and found no market. The next obvious choice was to show her all the restaurant options in Bitburg for 30 minutes before making a decision 😉

• I began using a brand new (and shiny if I say so myself) client gallery system! You’re going to love it!

• I missed work! I love getting much-needed family time, but this morning I woke up ready to respond to my wonderful clients and prep for this weekends sessions! <3

I hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! (28 days until Christmas!)
