I’ve spoken about this before, but Paris is where I found my travel independence! That may sound like a strange statement, but it’s true and it’s the lens that I see Paris through. During an 11-week international business trip I saw lots of cities, but sitting at a Paris café table something clicked.
I remember looking around and being overwhelmed with emotion. I can’t even describe it, but I felt a connection with the beautiful place I was visiting. I went off on my own in the city during our free time instead of going with another group of students. It was the first time I wandered in a foreign city alone- and it was invigorating! Now, I go back to the city often and try to experience it in a different way each time. It’s fitting that each time I visit I find a new Paris café to try out and experience the city from.
Oh, and truly, I go to Paris any chance I get. Even if it’s just for 36 hours! Be sure to read about that exciting excursion (and get tips on traveling to the City of Lights)!
You know I could talk about Paris for hours, but I’ll spare you. There are seriously a million reasons why I keep coming back to the City of Lights. One major reason? The cafés! Paris cafés are delicious, yes, but it’s so much more than the food. They provide such a great experience. A big factor in a cafés atmosphere is the French culture that surrounds eating. It’s a slow, intentional time. You start with an aperitif, move on to a first course to share, then a main, and lastly some coffee. Of course, you can dine however much you want, but the French take their meals slow and they are plentiful. I love it!
Not to mention, they are absolutely the cutest! I walk along the streets and just ohh and ahh over how similar they all are, but at the same time so unique. Every Paris café seems to have their own texture design and colors on their chairs as well as each café having a unique tabletop. I seriously cannot get over how much I love them!
An amazing Paris vacation for me is café hopping and seeing the views as well as people watching from my café table. It’s that simple! You’d be amazed at the culture you can experience at a Paris café.
