Filled in :
Once upon a time during a very serious tickle fight my at the time boyfriend, now husband, “promised” to stop the fight. I’m pretty sure I had been singing a very unattractive tune called yelling “UNCLE!” He however, did not stop after he promised and there began the start of the “promise-promise”.
It sounds silly, and it is, but it’s Teylor and my love language for the serious stuff. We might jokingly promise something but we know all jokes are aside if we promise-promise. Somehow it evolved into something we both take super seriously!
On our wedding day we wrote our own vows without helping each other at all or seeing each others vows before we read them to one another. Yet, both our vows started off, “I promise promise…” It meant so much to me that we both did that without knowing.
We both knew our vows were serious business and we wanted our promise promises to each other to be the start of our marriage.
I cannot tell you how many times a company representative has told me they will call me or do something for me and it never happens. What happens instead is I end up having to chase them down to do the very thing they promised to do on their own. Sadly this has happened to me with small businesses and large companies alike!
Sound familiar?
One night I was laying in bed thinking. I know my Brides, my branding session clients, my families… all my clients. I know, they know that I do the things I say, and I do them right so they only have to be done once. My clients know that I’m ahead of schedule, never behind. They know that when I say I’m going to do something I mean it. And most importantly, my clients know that I value them and always give them the best possible result and products!
But what about my not yet clients? Do they lay awake at night wondering if I’m going to keep my word? Do they ask themselves if should they hire me because of an answer they don’t know?
I started to think about all the people that come to my website without a previous referral to me that genuinely might not know what all I promise to them. The people that love my work, want to hire me, but don’t know just how committed I am to them and their big day or session.
I immediately thought, they need a promise promise!
So came the AYP Promise Promise!
These are essentially my vows to you and your man and I’m oh so serious about them!
Too often I hear couples waiting 6 weeks, 6 months, or even a full year to get their wedding photos. It’s unbelievable to me! With Alicia Yarrish Photography you’ll have your gallery within 3 weeks. I personally don’t want to wait 6 weeks for any photos, and I don’t want you to either.
Waiting 3-5 days for an email response should never be a thing. A 1 day email response should be a thing, and it is with me! I do keep business hours and you won’t find me responding in the middle of the night, however I promise to communicate with you often and always respond to your messages within one day. Isn’t it nice knowing that your photographer is on top of it?
Your number one job on your wedding day is to enjoy every single second of it. You should never worry for more than half a second about anything! Why? Because you have me and all your wedding professionals there to support you. Bridesmaid wardrobe malfunction? No worries, I have fashion tape, pins, sewing kit- all the things so that no malfunction will be in your photos!
I think of everything that might come up, everything that I wanted for my own wedding day, and all the photos you and your family want. I take all of that information and I prep for them and I’m sure to get every photo you’ll want over the years to remember your big day. Your wedding is so very important to me and you enjoying every moment of it is a must.
We truly get to know one another in the months leading up to your big day. At your engagement session, bridal session, coffee and wine dates, communication over email- we are friends. I’m so excited to be your photographer and a supporting friend to you on your wedding day!
