I first connected with Megan and Blake through Houston wedding planner, Jessica of J. Richter Events. Megan is such a sweet person and a beautiful bride! Later, I found out that Megan worked with my husband’s cousin in Aggieland. Small world! No matter how we connected I’m thrilled we did. Through planning their engagement session and wedding preparations both Megan and Blake were such a joy! Megan put thought into every little detail and wanted everything to have meaning.
She planned a unique wedding with so many sentimental touches. Her grandfather, unfortunately, passed away just a year prior. But Megan was determined to have him with her on her wedding day as planned. She had a locket with a portrait of the two of them on her bouquet and had an honorary seat for him at their ceremony. It was so special and something I know she will always remember as a part of her wedding day.
Megan has some great advice for couples wedding planning that I couldn’t help but share. She said:
1. Remember, this is YOUR wedding day! What makes the day special to the two of you will mean that much more to your loved ones. At the end of the day, they just want the two of you to be happy!
2. Planning details can seem overwhelming in a hurry. Relax, make a list, and take it one day at a time!
3. Don’t forget to stop and enjoy your engagement. It is a celebration!! The moments leading up to your big day are so special!
I couldn’t agree more with all of Megan’s wedding planning advice! Especially the first and third. It can be easy to want to please all the people around you, however, staying true to yourself will mean the world to you and your fiancé.
Now to the best part- their photos! Megan and Blake, it has been such a joy working with you two. The amount of thought you put into everything was so touching and it makes it even more of an honor to photograph! I’m so excited for your marriage and can’t wait to cheer you two on!
