Your wedding day will undoubtedly be one of the best of your entire life! You’ll see every detail you planned come to life. You and your fiancé will say “I do” at last. You’ll dance the night away with your family and friends. In between the events of your big day, though, there is a lot to think about! What if you need to use the restroom? Or you’re running behind on your timeline?
I won’t continue with the what if game. However, some situations are inevitable. And you should be prepared! At some point during your day, you will need to use the restroom, and that can prove difficult in some dresses. Also, most couples are a little delayed on their timeline. So what do you do? Keep reading!
When I work with a couple and their wedding planner to create the timeline, we are always sure to leave a little wiggle room. That’s because we know that it’s inevitable to run a little bit behind.
Whether it’s hair or makeup that takes longer than expected or if a key player isn’t on time- the possibilities are endless. You’re putting together a lot of vendors and people on your wedding day, so the chance for error inherently increases.
To combat that fact, I always insert little buffers here and there just in case so we can ‘catch up’ if needed. Does it take 40 minutes for family formals? Sometimes, but for most families, I can photograph them in 30 minutes. Inserting a little extra time here and there is a definite must! And if you do get behind on your wedding timeline, don’t fret! You hired amazing vendors who you are confident in.
Let us work our magic! I’m quick on my feet and always adapting to changing situations on weddings days. Chances are, I’ve seen a more delayed timeline than you’ll experience.
I assure you this is quite possibly the silliest thing I’ve ever heard. I also assure you that it works! Have you thought about how you’re going to use the restroom once you’ve got your dress on?
First and foremost, remember to go right before you get into your dress. But the rest of the night IKEA has your back! I love a good IKEA trip, and anytime I’m there I pick up a few extra big blue bags. If you’re excited to wear a wedding dress that has any ‘poof’ or tulle at all you’ll want to check out this tutorial and see with your own eyes! In short, the IKEA bag holds up your dress for you so you can use the restroom in peace without any extra help.
And don’t worry- I always keep a spare in my car just in case.
This wedding day tip is essential. At least one bridesmaid needs fashion tape on the wedding day. And I’ve got it in my bag! At some point in the day, your veil might try to come out. Not to worry- I’ve got bobby pins galore. As a female, I’m well versed in all the potential wardrobe malfunctions and come prepared.
As a photographer, you might not think that’s directly my job. But it is. My job is to capture memories for you to cherish for years to come and give you the best possible experience leading up to and on your wedding day. I come prepared for your day, and any unexpected twists, with my “emergency kit.”
It’s got everything from umbrellas for your entire bridal party to stain remover. And I’m probably not the only one! Your wedding planner will be handing out tissues and probably has an emergency kit of their own to support you and your day.
